You Be The Researcher

I participated in a group project in which we developed a test related to archaeological myths, administered the tests to voluntary participants (mostly family and friends), and compiled the test data in a report along with an analysis of our findings. This demonstrated rhetorical knowledge in the ability to prepare materials for testing but also to prepare materials for a report.

It demonstrates critical thinking, research, and analysis through test development and research methods related to administering and recording test results. There was not a focus on technology beyond using a new-to-me software solution for surveys called Survey Monkey. Processes and practices were demonstrated through the cross-platform coordination of the research group as well as the participants and test administration. It also bridged into discussions of ethical practices regarding collected data and recruitment for test participants.
